Replace the shattered back cover of your LG G7 ThinQ

The repair is a bit more difficult because the back cover of the LG G7 ThinQ is glued on strongly.

Switching off the LG G7 ThinQ
Turn off your device by holding down the power button on the side until the “Power off” option appears.
Tap to confirm and wait until the screen goes black.
Removing the back cover
The back cover’s heavily glued to the chassis. Heat the device evenly with hot air to soften the glue. A temperature of 60 - 80°C should be sufficient. As a rule of thumb, you should still be able to touch your device without it being uncomfortably hot.
The easiest way to loosen the back cover is to use a flat and flexible tool such as the iPlastix or iFlex. You will also need several picks to unstick the back cover all around.
Heat the spot where you start and place a flat tool between the back cover and the frame.
Use a suction cup to lift the glass if you can't find a place to insert your tool.
With the iSclack, you can easily lift the back cover and then use a flat tool to loosen the glue. Put both suction cups on the display and the backcover and press the lever of the tool together like a pair of pliers.
The iPlastix is made of plastic, so it won't scratch the device. On the other hand, it's very soft and tricky to insert. The iFlex makes it easier to get into the gap between the glass and the frame because it's made of very thin, stable metal. But it also makes it easier to scratch the frame of your device.
Be extra careful, the back cover can break very easily. If necessary, apply the heat several times and try again. Removing the back cover might take half an hour. Take a little more time and work carefully to make sure you don't break anything.
Once the tool is inserted, stick a pick into the gap to keep it open. Then run the tool around the entire edge to gradually loosen the glue.
Then heat the next part and insert the picks one by one.
Once the rear glass is unglued, you can lift it off. There's no cable attached.

Removing and installing the fingerprint sensor and the camera housing

If your backcover already has a fingerprint sensor and the camera guide built in, you can skip this step. Remove all protective films over the back cover's adhesive surfaces.
Heat the fingerprint sensor's contact field and carefully remove it from the backcover with a steel spatula.
Then heat the entire fingerprint sensor and press it out of the back cover from below.
Also remove the entire camera cover from the back cover.
Transfer all parts to your new backcover. If there are no adhesive surfaces, you will need to use new adhesive to properly attach the camera cover and fingerprint sensor.
Attaching the backcover
If the adhesive on the back cover is still intact, you can seal your device without using a new adhesive frame.
Put the back cover back in its original position.
Press the back cover on all over so the glue will stick.
You can also heat your device with hot air and then clamp it or weight it down with a couple of books so the glue will stick better.
If you install a new back cover, now remove the last protective films from the adhesive surfaces.

Please also note that after a repair the device is no longer 100% waterproof.
