  1. Switching off your device

    1. Turn off your device by holding down the power button until the “Power off” option appears.
    2. Use your finger to confirm that you want to shut down your Galaxy S8 Plus and wait until the screen goes blank.
  2. Removing the back cover

    1. The back cover’s really glued to the chassis. Heat the device evenly with hot air to soften the glue.
    2. Then carefully try to lift the rear glass using a flat, blunt tool. It’s best if you find a loose spot where you can insert the first pick. Then work your way around the device step by step.

    Use a suction cup to lift the glass if you can’t find anywhere to insert the toolThis step can take a pretty long time. You may have to heat the rear glass or the glue a few more times before you can finally detach itDon’t take off the back cover all the way because you have to disconnect the connector for the fingerprint reader first.

  3. Disconnecting the fingerprint sensor

    1. After detaching the back cover, carefully lift it and disconnect the fingerprint sensor using the spudger.
    2. Then you can completely remove the back cover and set it aside.
  4. Removing the NFC antenna

    • 8 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube
    1. Remove the screws that attach the upper cover to the display.
    2. The cover with the NFC antenna is glued onto the battery. Heat the part with the NFC antenna slightly with a heat gun or hairdryer.
    3. Then carefully insert a flat tool under the antenna and remove it. The cover is hooked onto the enclosure.

    1. Carefully slide in a steel spatula where the wireless charging coil is glued to the NFC antenna and pry off the contact.
    2. Now slowly remove the entire flex cable from the cover.

    If the cable is hard to remove, you can use a heat gun to soften the glue.

    1. Reconnect the contacts of the NFC antenna. Use the small plastic tabs on the cover to position it correctly.
    2. Press down the flex cable on the back side of the cover to make it stick.

    • 8 × 3,8 mm Phillips Schraube
    1. Put the cover with the antenna back in the enclosure after hooking it onto the top of the enclosure.
    2. Then press the cover with your fingers until it clicks gently into place all over.
    3. Fasten the phillips screws.

    1. Put the back cover back in its original position.
    2. Connect the fingerprint sensor again.
    3. Press the back cover on all over so the glue will stick.

    You can also heat your device with hot air and then clamp it or weight it down with a couple books so the glue will stick better.
