    1. Put the suction cup as far down on the display as possible, for example where it says “Huawei.” If the glass is too cracked for the suction cup to generate a vacuum, you can cover the display with tape.
    2. Pull on the suction cup while using the pick to push the back cover against the table. As soon as a gap appears between the display and the enclosure, you can carefully insert the pick.
    3. Also move the pick along the edges to disconnect the display on the sides. Continue to pull carefully on the suction cup.
    4. The fingerprint sensor is installed in the back cover. A flexible flat cable connects this sensor to the motherboard. Be careful when you take off the display to avoid damaging the cable or board.

    5. Carefully lift the display. Slowly open the device at the short upper edge like a book. Now you should be able to see the connection cable.
    6. Disconnect the cable from the motherboard by carefully inserting the spudger below the contact and disconnecting it.
  5. Disconnecting the battery contact

    1. There are two adhesive strips holding the battery in the enclosure. The ends of the adhesive strips are attached to the top (blue ends in the picture). Use the tweezers to detach them.
    2. Once you’ve detached the ends, you can slowly and carefully pull on them at a straight angle and steady speed. Pull out one strip after the other. Don’t worry if one of the strips tears and you can’t remove it all the way.
    3. Use the spudger to detach the battery from the enclosure and then remove the battery. Insert the flat, blunt end of the spudger below the battery and lift it.

The battery we sell comes with preattached tape strips. Here you see how to attach tape, in case your battery comes without any.

    1. Before you can install your new battery, you have to attach the adhesive strips. Turn the battery so you can see the back of it. The adhesive strips keep the battery from rattling around in your device. Attach the adhesive strips so the ends stick out past the battery on the side with the display contact. This is important because you have to be able to stick the ends to the top of the battery in the next step.
    2. Turn the battery around and remove the protective film from the ends of the adhesive strips. Stick them to the top of the battery. This way, you can easily remove the battery if you need to repair your phone again.
    3. Turn the battery back around and remove the protective film from the adhesive strips. The battery is now ready for you to install.
  15. Inserting the battery
