16 steps
  1. Removing the back cover

Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the back cover 01
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the back cover 02
    1. The back of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge’s enclosure is glued firmly in place. To detach it, you have to constantly heat it with a heat gun so the glue will soften. Then you have to insert a plastic pick into the gap between the frame and the glass to detach the adhesive.
    2. The gap between the aluminum frame and the glass is very small. We recommend that you use a very flat, sturdy object to get between them.
    3. Carefully lift the back cover while using a suction cup.
    4. As soon as a little gap opens up, use the plastic pick to avoid damaging the aluminum.
  2. Inserting the pick

Galaxy S6 Edge - Inserting the pick 01
Galaxy S6 Edge - Inserting the pick 02
    1. You should only insert the pick about two or three millimeters between the back cover and the frame to prevent damage inside the enclosure.
The back cover is painted on the inside. Remove any adhesive residue carefully to avoid scratches or cracks.
    2. The back cover is glued to the entire outer edge of the Galaxy S6 Edge. Move the pick once around the entire phone.
    3. Once you’ve detached all the glue, you can carefully lift the back cover.
  3. Removing the midframe

Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the midframe 05
    1. Remove the 13 Phillips screws that hold the plastic cover in place (see figure 1)..
      13 x 3.3 mm Phillips screws
    2. Take out the SIM card tray.
    3. Now lift the charging pad for wireless charging. It’s lightly glued to the midframe.
    4. In order to remove the midframe, you have to carefully push down the battery and the rest of the smartphone. Use your other hand to push up the frame. If it doesn’t move, carefully insert a pick between the display and the frame, and press it upward.
  4. Removing the front camera

Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the front camera 01
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the front camera 02
    1. Place the pointed tip of the spudger very slightly below the contact and lift it up. Make sure you don’t break off the resistors that are soldered onto the logic board.
    2. Now you can disconnect the front camera connector. Be very careful.
  5. Removing the logic board

    1. Before you can remove the logic board, you have to unscrew two black screws on the dock connector.
      2 x 3.3 mm Phillips screws
    2. Then you have to disconnect the following contacts. Place the pointed tip of the spudger very slightly below the contacts and lift them up.
      Battery
Display (connect the new display and test all the functions)
      Earpiece
      Home button
    3. Then insert the spudger below the dock connector cable set, which is lightly glued on, and lift it up. A sensor is also lightly glued on.
    4. Now you can remove the logic board with the dock connector connected.

There's a small plastic pin in the opening of the SIM tray. Make sure it doesn't fall out.

  6. Removing the vibration motor

    1. Now remove the vibration motor. Insert a sharp object below the vibration motor, which is lightly glued in place, and lift it carefully. The copper contact point is also lightly glued on.
    2. Make sure it doesn’t tear. If you still can’t detach the vibration motor, you can use a heat gun to warm it slightly and soften the glue.
    3. Remove the vibration motor.
  7. Removing the earpiece

Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the earpiece 01
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the earpiece 02
    1. In order to remove the earpiece and sensor cable, you have to take off the silver cover on the cable set by placing the pointed tip of the laboratory spatula below the cover and carefully lifting it off.
    2. Now you can simply remove the cable set.
  8. Removing the battery

Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the battery 01
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the battery 02
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the battery 03
Galaxy S6 Edge - Removing the battery 04
    1. The battery is glued to the enclosure. Heat the battery slightly to soften the glue below it.
    2. Lift the battery one millimeter at a time using the spudger or a plastic pick.
    3. Heat the battery at regular intervals so the glue gets soft and doesn’t stick.

Work very slowly and carefully because the tool could damage the battery and cause fluid to come out.

  13. Installing the vibration motor

Galaxy S6 Edge - Installing the vibration motor 01
    1. Now put the vibration motor back in the appropriate position. The old glue is usually enough to hold it. Press it on firmly.
    2. If the vibration motor is too loose, use new glue. If the motor isn’t attached securely enough, your phone’s vibration will be weaker.
  14. Installing the logic board

Galaxy S6 Edge - Installing the logic board 01
