Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro - Replacing the battery

Use our checklist to test the basic functions of your Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC before repairing. This way you can check afterwards if your repair was successful.

1. Press and hold the power button until the Power Off menu appears on the screen.
2. Tap Power off in the displayed menu. Your smartphone will shut down within a few seconds.

1. Press a thin, pointed object into the small round opening next to the SIM tray to push it out of the device frame. We use a SIM tool for this purpose.
2. Then pull the tray completely out of the frame.

The edge of the back cover is heavily glued. It is therefore essential to first heat it up sufficiently. Use a hot air device for this purpose, such as a heat gun or an ordinary hair dryer.

1. Heat the edge of the back cover by running the hot air device evenly over it.

To create a narrow gap between back cover and display unit you need a flat, stable tool. We recommend the iFlex for this, since it has particularly sharp edges that can be easily inserted.

1. Attach a suction cup to the lower edge of the back cover and pull it upwards. Insert the iFlex between the display unit and the back cover at the same time.

To avoid damaging the edge of the case with the sharp edges of the iFlex, you should switch to a plastic tool like the iPlastix as soon as possible.

Be extra careful when loosening around the camera module, so you don't damage it with your tool.

1. Drive the tool completely around the edge of the back cover to loosen it piece by piece.
2. Slide flat picks under the back cover at regular intervals, so that the glue cannot bond again.

We recommend you to use a screw storage. This way you keep track of everything during the repair and don't lose anything. For example, you can use our high-quality magnetic pad.

1. Remove the 17 Phillips screws from the middle frame.
2. Then place them on the magnetic pad.

The middle frame is firmly hooked to the screen unit and has to be unhooked.

Be careful when unfolding the detached middle frame to avoid damaging the fingerprint sensor that is still connected.

1. Push a flat plectrum with a bit of pressure between the screen unit and the middle frame. It is best to start on one of the two long sides of the frame.
2. Run the pick completely around the frame. It should audibly and noticeably separate from the screen unit.
3. Carefully unfold the loosened middle frame.

Always detach the battery connector as soon as possible to avoid a potential short circuit.

When separating connectors, always start from the side where there are no small components on the motherboard. This way you avoid potential damage.

1. Carefully pry the battery connector from the motherboard with a plastic spudger.

1. Disconnect the fingerprint sensor connector in the same way as the battery connector.
2. Afterwards, you can completely remove the middle frame and put it aside.

The battery is fixed in the screen unit with a continuous thin adhesive film, on the underside of which are the actual adhesive surfaces. The three tabs of the adhesive film rest on the upper side of the battery.

1. First, remove the three adhesive tabs from the top of the battery. The labeling of the tabs indicates the order.

1. Release the battery from its guide by gently pulling the adhesive tab with the A label.
2. Put the loosened battery aside.

The back of the replacement battery already has an adhesive film, integrated on its back. Therefore you have to remove the old adhesive film from the bottom of the screen unit, before you install the new battery.

To remove the battery's adhesive film from the screen unit without leaving any residue, you should first heat it with hot air.

1. Heat the adhesive film by running a hot air device evenly over it.
2. Then use a sturdy, flat tool, such as a steel spatula, to drive underneath the adhesive film to remove it piece by piece from the bottom of the screen unit.

1. Prepare the replacement battery by removing the protective film from the back and carefully bending its connector if necessary.
2. Insert the prepared battery into the screen unit and press it firmly.

Be especially careful when connecting the fingerprint sensor to avoid overstretching the sensitive flex cable.

1. Lean the middle frame against the screen unit.
2. Reconnect the fingerprint sensor by pressing its connector gently on the motherboard. It should audibly and noticeably click into place.

Always connect the battery connector last to avoid a potential short circuit.

Never attach connectors by force. Damage can lead to the failure of an entire component.

1. Reconnect the battery by gently pressing its connector onto the motherboard.

It is important that the middle frame sits level everywhere. If it stands out in places, loosen it again and check whether everything is installed correctly and no flex cables are jammed.

1. Once the battery and fingerprint sensor connectors are connected, you can fold down the middle frame.
2. Press it firmly down all the way around the screen unit. You should hear and feel it click into place.

1. Fasten the middle frame with the 17 Phillips screws.

Before you glue your Xiaomi again, you should test it for functionality at this point.
If something doesn't work properly during testing, double-check that everything is installed and attached correctly.

1. Connect your Redmi Note 10 pro to the mains in order to check the functionality of the replacement battery.
2. If available, place it on a wireless charger to check the function of the NFC antenna as well.
3. To test other components, you can use our checklist as a guide.

If the adhesive frame is still in good condition, you do not need to install a new one. However, if it has defects or no longer sticks properly, we recommend that you install a new adhesive frame.

If the old adhesive frame forms lumps in some places, you should remove them, so that the back cover lies flat again and seals your smartphone properly.

We recommend that you run hot air over the edge of the back cover again, so that the glue bonds properly. You can also weigh down your device with books for a few minutes.

1. Close your Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro after the repair by pressing the back cover back onto the screen unit.

Make sure to insert the SIM tray the right way around.

1. Re-insert the SIM tray once the back cover is properly and firmly in place.
