Your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ has a cracked screen? The touch screen does not work anymore?

No worries. In this detailed step-by-step guide, we explain how you can replace the defective screen of your Galaxy Note 10+ on your own.

Replacing the display is the most complex and therefore also the most difficult repair of the Note 10+. Both the back cover and the battery are heavily bonded. In addition, all components are built into the display unit and must therefore all be removed. Plan enough time for the repair though.

We wish you much success with your repair! You can find the right original replacement screen for your Galaxy Note 10+ as well as the Samsung tool kit in our online store.

Getting started with the repair of your Galaxy Note 10+

If you get stuck or have questions, you can post a comment. We’d be happy to help.

24 steps
  1. Switching off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+

Galaxy Note 10+ - Switching off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 03
Galaxy Note 10+ - Switching off your Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 04

Before repairing, we recommend that you use our checklist to test the basic functions of your Galaxy Note 10+. This way you can check afterwards if your repair was successful.

Switch off your Note 10+ after testing to avoid a potential short circuit.

    1. To do so, first press and hold the side and volume down key simultaneously for a few seconds.
    2. Tap on "Switch off" in the displayed menu.
    3. Your phone will now shut down completely within a few seconds.
  2. Heating up the back cover

    Used tools
    Heat gun

The Galaxy Note 10+ is opened via its back cover. It is made of glass and strongly glued. In order to detach it, you must first heat up the glue with hot air. Use a hot air device, like a heat gun or an ordinary hair dryer.

    1. Place your phone face down on a soft, clean surface.
    2. Move the hot air device evenly over the edge of the back cover.

The rule of thumb: The edge of the back cover should only be heated up to a point where you can still touch it without burning your fingers.

Since the edge of the back cover is curved, you should also heat it slightly from the side.

    VAKUPLASTIC Suction Cup

As soon as the edge of the back cover is warmed up sufficiently, you can start to carefully lift it up.

Opening the Galaxy Note 10+ will void the manufacturer's warranty.

    1. Place a suction cup in the lower part of the back cover and pull it upwards. This way you'll create a narrow gap between backcover and the rear case.
    2. At the same time insert a flat, stable tool into the gap to enlarge it. We recommend the iFlex for this.

The iFlex is made of thin, stable metal and has sharp edges. This makes it particularly easy to insert, but it can also easily leave scratches. We therefore recommend that you start with the iFlex and continue as early as possible with a plastic tool.Since the edge of the Note 10+ back cover is rounded the tool can be inserted the easiest way at the straight flat edges at the top and bottom of the device.

In the next step you can completely detach and remove the back cover.

Be careful not to insert your tool too far into the device to avoid damaging components.

    1. Remove the back cover from the rear case frame piece by piece by moving a plastic tool along the edge of the back cover. For this purpose we use the iPlastix.
The iPlastix is made of thin, flexible plastic. Unlike the iFlex, it has no sharp edges.
    1. Insert flat plastic picks at the loosened points of the back cover frame at regular intervals, so that the adhesive cannot rebond.

Warm up the glue with hot air at regular intervals to make it easier to loosen.

    1. One the back cover is entirely detached, unfold it carefully and put it aside.

    1. Press a thin, pointed object into the small round opening in the SIM tray to push it out of the device frame. We use a SIM tool for this purpose.
    2. Then pull the tray completely out of the frame.

Next, three housing covers must be removed which secure the two boards and the battery.

    1. First unscrew the 14 Phillips screws from the covers.

To store loosened screws and small components it is advisable to use a screw storage box. We recommend our magnetic pad for this purpose. You can arrange the removed components on it the same way they were installed in the phone. To prevent damaging anything on the mainboard, you should always apply the tool only from the side where there are no small components.

    1. Lift up the metal cover and carefully separate the connector of the NFC antenna underneath using a plastic lever tool. We recommend a handy plastic spudger for this purpose.
    2. Then carefully peel of the slightly glued NFC antenna and put it aside.
    3. Remove the two plastic covers afterwards.

The plastic cover in the upper area of your phone can be removed easily with your fingers or tweezers. The lower cover is firmly hooked in and must be carefully levered out with a spudger.

When disconnecting the flex cables make sure to apply the spudger from the side only where there are no small components on the board. This way you avoid potential damage.
    1. Slide the spudger under the flex cable connectors one after the other and carefully lift them off the mainboard and USB board.

The screen cable is built into the display unit on the side of the USB board, so it cannot be separated completely .

    1. Then put the detached flex cables to the side.

Never heat the heat-sensitive battery directly, but always from the screen side only .When removing the battery take care not to bend it or damage it otherwise. When removing the battery take care not to damage the display flex cable, which is still connected from one side.

    1. Turn your phone with the screen facing up and move hot air evenly over the area where the battery is located.
    2. Turn the display unit over again and use a sturdy plastic tool to slide it under one edge of the battery to gently lift it up. We use the battery spudger for this.
    3. If the battery is slightly loosened, you can use a flat, flexible tool such as the iPlastix to slide it under the battery to completely detach it from the display unit.
