The display of your Samsung Galaxy A70 has jumped, the touchscreen does not work anymore, pixel errors are displayed?

We explain step by step how you can replace the defective display of your Samsung Galaxy A70 on your own. We will guide you through the process from opening the back cover to removing and reinstalling the individual components.

A special feature of the Galaxy A70 should already be mentioned at this point: Since the back cover is not made of glass but of more robust plastic, it can't be damaged that easily during the repair.

If questions arise during the repair, don't hesitate to contact our support team via the chat or comment function. We will gladly help you further. We would also appreciate your feedback and an evaluation of our manual!

And now good luck with the repair and have fun with your repaired Samsung Galaxy A70!

Getting started with the repair of your Galaxy A70

If you get stuck or have questions, you can post a comment. We’d be happy to help.

24 steps
  1. Switch off your Galaxy A70

    Galaxy A70 - Switch off your Galaxy A70 01
    Galaxy A70 - Switch off your Galaxy A70 02
    1. Switch off your Galaxy A70 by pressing down the power button for a few seconds.
  2. Heating up the back cover

Galaxy A70 - Heating up the back cover 01

    Used tools
    Heat gun

The Galaxy A70 is opened via the plastic back cover, which is glued to the edge. You need to heat the glue with hot air before repairing to be able to open your device.

Most of the glue is in the upper and lower backcover area.

    1. To heat the glue, you can use a heat gun or a normal hair dryer. Move the hot air evenly over the edge of your device.

The rule of thumb is: Always heat your device only to the extent that you can still touch it without it becoming uncomfortably hot.

    Used tools
  3. Removing the back cover

    1. When the edge of your device is heated, place a suction cup in the lower part of the backcover and slowly pull it upwards to create a gap between the backcover and the center frame. At the same time you try to insert a stable, flat tool into the gap. We recommend the iFlex or the iPlastix.

The iFlex is made of metal and therefore has a sharp edge. The iPlastix is made of flexible plastic and therefore has less sharp edges.
To avoid scratches on your device, we recommend you start with the iFlex at this step and continue with the iPlastix as early as possible.

Make sure that you never insert your tool too far into the device to avoid damaging components and flex cables!

    1. Once a gap has been created, guide your tool along the edge piece by piece to completely release the backcover. To facilitate loosening, it is advisable to heat the frame again and again in between. In addition, insert several flat picks along the gap to prevent the adhesive from rebonding at the points already loosened.
    2. Take off the back cover. If the adhesive strip is still as intact as in our example, you do not need to apply a new adhesive strip for subsequent gluing.

  4. Removing the middle frame

    • 14 × 4.0 mm Phillips
    1. To release the middle frame, first remove the SIM card holder, for example with the SIM tool or another pointed object.
    2. Loosen the screws that hold the middle frame on the display.
    3. Now try to create a gap between the display and the middle frame with a plectrum.
    4. Move the tool once around the edge of the display in order to be able to loosen the middle frame entirely.

  5. Disconnecting the battery

    Galaxy A70 - Disconnecting the battery 01
    Galaxy A70 - Disconnecting the battery 02
    Used tools
    • Connector

Make sure that you always work on the connector from the side where there are no small components on the board. That way you avoid damage.

    1. Disconnect the battery connector to prevent a short circuit during the repair. To do this, carefully drive a plastic spudger under the battery connector and lift it off.

    Used tools

Never heat the battery directly, always heat it from the side of the display only! Otherwise it can be damaged.Avoid lifting it in the upper part of the battery as this is where the battery controler is located.
When loosening the battery, avoid damaging its cover or bending it.

To remove the wide sticky battery from your device, you will need a wide, stable and a flat, flexible plastic tool.
We recommend you the battery spudger and the iPlastix.

    1. First heat the glued battery from the side of the display with a hot air dryer to make it easier to remove.
    2. Then place the battery spudger on the bottom edge of the battery and try to loosen it by gently levering it upwards.
    3. Proceed with the iPlastix as soon as the battery is slightly loosened. This allows you to slide more under the battery to loosen the glue.

    Galaxy A70 - Inserting the battery 01
    Galaxy A70 - Inserting the battery 02
    1. The new Galaxy A70 display does not come with new adhesive strips to attach the battery.
Usually, the adhesive residues on the back of the battery or the inside of the middle frame are sufficient to fix the battery securely.
Make sure that the battery has enough space in the device on all sides and does not get squeezed anywhere.

Make sure the adhesive residues lie smoothly on the battery surface and do not form lumps. Clumped adhesive residues must always be removed to prevent the battery from resting unevenly.

    1. To be on the safe side, you can remove all adhesive residue and stick thin, double-sided adhesive tape or universal adhesive tapes to the back of the battery before you put it back in its original position.

  25. Attaching the back cover

Galaxy A70 - Attaching the back cover 01
Galaxy A70 - Attaching the back cover 02

If the adhesive frame on your backcover is still intact, you do not need to remove it to attach a new adhesive frame. If the adhesive frame is no longer intact or clumped, remove it completely with a spudger and attach a new one.

    1. Attach the backcover and press it once along the edge so that the adhesive frame sticks everywhere.
    2. Heat the backcover edge again with hot air and then weigh it down with books so that the glue spreads well everywhere.
