    1. Put the suction cup as far down on the display as possible, for example where it says “Huawei.” If the glass is too cracked for the suction cup to generate a vacuum, you can cover the display with tape.
    2. Pull on the suction cup while using the pick to push the back cover against the table. As soon as a gap appears between the display and the enclosure, you can carefully insert the pick.
    3. Also move the pick along the edges to disconnect the display on the sides. Continue to pull carefully on the suction cup.
    4. The fingerprint sensor is installed in the back cover. A flexible flat cable connects this sensor to the motherboard. Be careful when you take off the display to avoid damaging the cable or board.

    5. Carefully lift the display. Slowly open the device at the short upper edge like a book. Now you should be able to see the connection cable.
    6. Disconnect the cable from the motherboard by carefully inserting the spudger below the contact and disconnecting it.
  5. Disconnecting the battery contact

    1. Disconnect the white antenna cable from the motherboard to uncover the screw below it.
    2. Remove the two screws that hold the plate in place.
    3. Using the tweezers, carefully remove the plate. The plate is hooked onto the motherboard both at the screw holes and in the middle.
    4. Using the spudger, carefully disconnect the battery contact.
    5. Then disconnect the wide flexible flat cable that goes to the lower board from the motherboard.
  6. Removing the rear camera

    3. Then continue on the other side.
    4. Remove the buttons.

    1. Remove the screw that holds the plate in place.
    2. Remove the plate from the motherboard.
    3. Disconnect the display contact from the motherboard. Insert your spudger at the edge of the plug contact and carefully pry it out of the socket.
  9. Removing the motherboard

    P9 - Removing the motherboard 01
    P9 - Removing the motherboard 02
    P9 - Removing the motherboard 03
    • 2 × 2,5 mm PH00 Phillips-Schrauben
    1. Two screws hold the motherboard in the enclosure. Remove the screws.
    2. The board is also clamped into the enclosure. Use the spudger in the middle of the right side to detach it.
    3. Then put the spudger in the upper left corner and carefully pry out the board.
    4. Remove the board.
  10. Removing the adhesive strips

    3. Detach the two ends of the adhesive strips from the battery so you can pull on them.
    4. Then pull one adhesive strip after the other. Pull them as flat as possible at a consistent speed so the strips won’t tear.

    P9 - Removing the battery 03
    P9 - Removing the battery 04

Be very careful during this step. Use a flat, blunt tool like the round end of the steel laboratory spatula to avoid damaging the battery.

    1. The lower edge of the battery’s still glued on. Carefully lift the battery with the steel spatula and then insert the spudger.
    2. Using the spudger, carefully continue prying it out and detaching the glue.
    3. Remove the battery.
  12. Inserting the battery

    P9 - Inserting the battery 01
    P9 - Inserting the battery 02

If your battery doesn’t already have adhesive strips, make sure you put on new ones before installing the battery. If you don’t stick the battery in place, it could move around in the enclosure and get damaged or damage other parts.

    1. Put the battery in the enclosure. Make sure it’s aligned properly. The battery contact has to be pointing to the camera openings.
    2. Press the battery on firmly so the glue will stick.
  13. Installing the motherboard

    1. Put the board back in the enclosure. Press it on a little so it will click into the enclosure.
    2. The board has a little hole on the upper right and another one on the lower left. A tab on the enclosure has to go into each one. This will help you position the board.
    3. Use the two screws to fasten the board to the enclosure.
  14. Connecting the display
