Your Samsung Galaxy A52 discharges much too fast? You notice a significant drop in performance?

In this detailed photo tutorial, we will show you step by step how you can easily replace your battery yourself.

If your battery is inflated, keep in mind that the gas inside the battery is flammable and can escape. If you do not feel confident enough, have it replaced at a repair shop.

To avoid scratches on case and screen glass, make sure your workspace is clean and level.

We wish you good luck with your repair!

  1. Switching off your Samsung Galaxy A52

We recommend that you use our checklist to test basic functions of your phone before the repair. This way you can rule out the possibility that anything has been damaged during the repair. Afterwards you have to switch off your A52 to avoid a potential short circuit.

    1. To do this, first press and hold the side and volume down key simultaneously for a few seconds.
    2. Tap on "Switch off" in the displayed menu.
    3. Your phone will now shut down completely within a few seconds.
  2. Heating up the back cover

Once you open your device its specified IP68 certification will expire.

The Galaxy A52 is opened via the firmly adhered plastic back cover. To remove it, you first have to heat the adhesive film with hot air. Use a hot air device such as a heat gun or a regular hair dryer.
    1. Heat the glue by running a hot air device evenly over the edge of the back cover.

    Used tools
  3. Lifting up the back cover

To detach the back cover, we recommend using a thin, sturdy tool like the iFlex. Since it has particularly sharp edges, it can be inserted easily.
    1. Attach a suction cup to the lower edge of the back cover and pull it upward to create a narrow gap. At the same time, insert the iFlex between the screen unit and the back cover.

To avoid damaging the edge of the case with the sharp edges of the iFlex, you should switch to a plastic tool like the iPlastix as soon as possible.

Be extra careful when loosening around the camera module, so you don't damage it with your tool.

    1. Drive the tool completely around the edge of the back cover to loosen it piece by piece. Heat the adhesive again in between.
    2. Slide flat picks under the back cover at regular intervals, so that the glue cannot bond again.

  5. Unscrewing the board cover

    • 10 × 4.4 mm Phillips

We recommend you to use a screw storage during the repair. This way you keep track of screws and small parts and don't lose anything. For example, you can use our high-quality magnetic pad.

    1. Remove the 10 Phillips screws from the cover above the motherboard.
    2. Then place them on the magnetic pad.

    1. Carefully pry the battery connector from the motherboard with a plastic spudger.

  10. Removing the connecting cable

    • Connector

The connecting cable between the USB and motherboard runs above the battery. It is attached with two connectors on the USB and one connector on the motherboard.

    1. Use a spudger to separate the three connectors one after the other.
    2. Take the detached cable out of the device and put it aside.

The battery of the A52 is heavily glued into the display unit. In order to make it easier to remove, you should therefore heat it previously.

Never heat the sensitive battery directly, but only from the screen side.

    1. Heat the battery by running a hot air gun evenly over the corresponding opposite spot on the screen.

The battery can be loosened particularly well if you move the iPlastix under the battery with a knife movement.

    2. Insert the flat iPlastix at the lifted edge and slide it under the battery bit by bit to completely detach it from the bottom of the screen unit.
    3. Remove the detached battery from the device.

Remove thicker adhesive residues from the case bottom. These can cause the battery to sit unstable in the guide. In the worst case, this can cause the battery to inflate.

    1. Place the battery in its guide in the screen unit and press it firmly.

  16. Attaching the connecting cable

Never attach connectors by force. Damage can lead to the failure of an entire component.

    1. Align the connecting cable above the battery. Its labeling will help you do this.
    2. Reattach it by gently pressing its three connectors onto the USB- and motherboard.
  17. Inserting the speaker

    • 6 × 4.4 mm Phillips

To ensure that the speaker sits level, the plastic lugs on the edge of the module must blend into the case frame. For this, it is best to set it at a slight angle.

    1. Insert the speaker.
    2. Subsequently, fix it with six Phillips screws.

    1. Heat the adhesive frame with hot air to make it easier to remove from the inside of the back cover.
    2. Pull it off bit by bit with a pair of tweezers.
